Maintenance Requirements

Daily (by owner)

  • Ensure that the area around the outdoor unit is clear and allows for unobstructed airflow.
  • Visually check the exterior of both the indoor and outdoor units, and the ductwork, for signs of physical damage.
If any damage is found during visual inspection, please shut off the power to the heat pump and contact your installer or a qualified service person immediately. Do not attempt to remove the front cover yourself!

Every 90 Days (by owner)

  • Inspect the air filter every ninety days or as often as needed. If blocked or obstructed, it must be cleaned or replaced immediately.

Annually (qualified service person)

  • Inspect the air filter. If blocked or obstructed, it must be cleaned or replaced immediately.
  • Inspect the blower wheel housing and motor, and clean/remove debris if found to be dirty.
  • Inspect the indoor and outdoor coils, and clean if necessary.
  • Inspect and clean the indoor coil drain pan and drain lines, as well as the auxiliary drain pan and lines.
  • Check all electrical wiring and connections. If incorrect wiring is found, please refer to the wiring diagrams in the product's manual to rectify.

If the inspections reveal any damaged components, they must be replaced prior to placing the heat pump back into operation.
